November 2014 Catch Up

One of the things I remember most about this last winter was the strangely warm weather we had.  At the beginning of November, I took the kids to the park in just a light jacket and the sun was shining so even that was a little warm.  They loved being outside and letting some energy out.  Trey was still small enough that he couldn't really play by himself, but Kadie played on the swings and slides and climbed up whatever she could.  This was actually also one of the first times Trey was old enough to actually appreciate the swings and he got the biggest smile on his face when I put him in and he started swinging back and forth.  (He wasn't so thrilled though when I tried to put him and Kadie in the same swing.)

Only a few days after playing at the park, we had our first big snowfall.  Kadie begged me to put on her coat, scarf and gloves so she could go and play out in it while it was snowing.  She loved stomping around in the snow and singing "Let It Go".  It was so cute.  I'm not one for the cold and the snow, but watching her reminded me that I liked it too when I was her age.

Every two or three years, I decide to color my hair brown in the fall/winter.  My old roommate is a beautician and has been doing my hair for the last 10 years.  It's a fun change that lasts for about 3 months or so and then I have to get some highlights or something to help cover the growth.

I found out that there was an event at the Riverwoods in Provo where they were going to be lighting all the lights they put up for Christmastime.  There was supposed to be a bunch of stuff going on, but it was at night and kind of cold so we didn't last very long before we went inside the toy store they have there and looked around.  Trey definitely had the better end of the deal being wrapped in a blanket, zipped up in Covey's coat and being carried around!

We celebrated Thanksgiving last year with Covey's family.  We went to his brother and sister-in-law's house in Lehi.  The snow had melted again and the weather had gone back to being all warm and nice.  The kids all just ran around and played and the adults prepared the food and chatted.  I was excited for Trey to try out a few of the foods since he was eating some table food at this point.  He ate a little bit, but was mostly satisfied with his pureed turkey and rice.

Trey turned 8 months during November.  The thing I remember most about his progress was that he started to do a little caterpillar crawl, where he'd scoot his knees underneath himself so his bum was in the air and then he'd push off.  Soon after this, he learned how to army crawl and then crawl on his knees.  He also had his top two teeth come all the way in so he had a total of 4 teeth.
