7 Year Anniversary

7 YEARS!  I cannot believe that we've been married that long.  It is one of those weird feelings where you feel like "There is no way it's been 7 years!" and at the same time "It's only been 7 years?!"

We decided it would be fun to spend the night somewhere close by and do a 2 day celebration.  My mom came over in the morning and Covey and I went to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple and did a session.  We ate lunch at the Blue Lemon and then headed up to Salt Lake for an hour long couples massage.

Our hotel was in Park City so we drove up there and checked in.  We stayed a a placed called Newpark Hotel and Resort.  It was a nice place with shops and restaurants all around it.  It kind of had the feel of the Riverwoods in Provo, but nicer.  Our hotel room had a balcony with a hot tub, kitchen, fireplace, huge tub and king size bed.  We got a pretty good deal on it since we went up there during the off season, but the price doubled or tripled per night during the season, which is crazy!  I can't imagine paying that much to stay in a hotel in Park City.  (Hawaii?  Heck yes, because, duh.  Hawaii.)

For dinner, we had chosen a little place that had awesome reviews in historic Park City.  What the reviews failed to mention was that it was closed for a month in between season and off season and that is right when we were there.  We were a little frustrated and annoyed, but decided to eat at Main Street Pizza and Noodle.  I had been there once about 9 years ago and remembered that it was good.  My memory was right and we enjoyed a yummy dinner with leftovers to take back with us.  We walked the streets a little, but many of the stores were closed (again, due to the off season) so we just headed back to the hotel for the night.

The next morning, we relaxed and ate breakfast in the Kneaders they had almost right below us.  We got their french toast and it was heavenly.  Then we packed up and checked out and went over to the outlets where we wandered through a few stores and bought a couple shirts.  Originally, we had planned to go see a movie, but after driving through Provo Canyon, I was feeling kind of sick to my stomach so we decided to head home early so I could take a little nap.  My mom had taken the kids to the zoo that day and they got home shortly after us.

Overall, it was a fun, although short, weekend celebration of our anniversary.  Sometimes, I just stop and think about life before I was married and although it was good, I definitely prefer being married and having my sweet family.
