May 2014 Catch Up

May was actually fairly eventful.  Covey and I were starting to get a handle on going places with 2 kids finally and we tried to do it as often as we could.

As my anniversary gift, Covey said I could get my wedding ring re-dipped since I hadn't had it done since we got married and it was in dire need of it.  We picked it up at the mall at the beginning of the month and then we got some Jamba Juice to share with Makadie.  That girl loves her smoothies!  It was also bath day. :)

Covey and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on the 3rd of May.  Covey brought me flowers, which were beautiful.  My mom watched Trey and Makadie while we went out on a date.  Covey was half teasing, half serious when he suggested we go somewhere overnight, but I wasn't comfortable leaving Trey overnight when he was still waking up to eat a couple times a night.  So we went to dinner at Goodwood BBQ, which was so yummy!  If there is one thing Covey and I agree on when it comes to food, it is that BBQ is the best.  Then we went rock climbing at the Quarry.  It was the first time I'd exercised since having Trey and I got worn out a little faster than I would have liked, but we definitely had fun.  We finished off the night with 1/2 price goodies from Kneader's.  I may or may not have picked 3 treats for myself...

I went to the dentist for my semi-annual check up and while there, Makadie had a "happy visit".  It wasn't an official check up, but they basically show her all the tools they use and what they do.  She was such a good girl and thought it was all pretty great.  We'll see if she still thinks that next time we go in for a real appointment (which is coming up soon).

Mother's Day.  Covey helped Makadie make me a card.  It basically consisted of her hand on the front and the words 'Happy Mother's Day' written with Covey's help.  Then Covey asked her what she wanted him to write in it and she told him all sorts of funny things.  It was basically just her rambling about everything.  Of course, I loved it. :)

We had Trey's baby blessing at the end of the month.  I love that we have so much family around to help us celebrate these special occasions!  Trey is such a sweet little boy and truly a blessing to our family.

At the end of the month, we celebrated Memorial Day.  We met at a park in Pleasant Grove for lunch and then went over to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, which is where my mother-in-law's parents are buried, and heard a couple of stories about them.  Then we went home and put the kids down for a nap and took one ourselves.

It was also warm enough by the end of the month to put Makadie in a swimsuit and let her play in the sprinklers.  She loved it for about 30 minutes and then she was done.  haha

Plus a few more pictures from the month:

Any time I did tummy time with Trey, Makadie always wanted to lay right next to him and "practice too".

And out comes the "cheesy" smile...

This little lady got into my mascara, or "mascra" as she calls it, and tried to put it on her eyes.

I went and got my hair and eyelashes done

Makadie thought brother might be cold so she went and got a blanket and her little cow stuffed animal that she sleeps with and gave it to him.
