Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Each year for Christmas, we have to adjust things a little bit to make sure we can fit everything, and everyone, in that we want to.  This year, we had my dad, step-mom, Grandma Baldauf, Dani, Stephen and Jackson over to our house for dinner and presents on Christmas Eve since we weren't going to be able to see them the next day.  We made some delicious copycat Panera Bread Broccoli Cheese soup and some copycat Zupa's Wisconsin Cauliflower soup.  A-maz-ing!

Makadie had a blast opening presents this year.  Last year she didn't really know how to do it, but she really caught on between last Christmas and this one.  Covey and I received some fun gifts as well.  Later that night, Covey and I put together Makadie's princess castle that she was getting the next day and made sure everything was ready to go.

I was pretty excited to see Makadie's reaction on Christmas morning and she didn't disappoint.  Her face was pure happiness.  She was just go-go-go all day long and couldn't get enough of opening presents.  In the morning, me, Covey and Makadie just had our own little Christmas morning.  Then, my mom, Dani, Stephen, Jackson and Cheyenne came over for breakfast and more presents.  Afterwards, we put Makadie down for a nap before we went up to Covey's sister and brother-in-law's house for dinner and more family time.  This year, Covey's parents gave all the kids a headlamp and then explained to them that the light is like Christ and He will guide our path, just like the headlamp does.  It was a nice gift and a good reminder about what Christmas is really about.  All in all, it was a pretty good day.
