February Catch Up

Wow.  I never feel more behind in anything than my blog.  Even though other people read it, it's more of a journal for me so that I don't forget things.  I love taking pictures and that is mostly how I do my journaling and how I remember what the heck I did that month.  (Sadly, I can't take pictures of Makadie's words, or how fast she's growing, so sometimes I get really mad at myself for not writing it down somewhere so that I can look back on it.)

So, without further adieu, here is my attempt to catch up on the going-on's from February:

After clearing the sugar from her body and brain from her birthday cake, Makadie started to grow up so fast!  She started walking all over the place and her little personality really started to develop.  It was almost like we were back to when she was only a couple months old and every day she was changing, only now, we've fast forwarded to a year later.  

It was funny because after learning to walk, she learned how to crawl.  I always thought she'd be one to walk before she would crawl because even at 4 months old, she loved to be up on her feet and trying to stand.

Makadie also had her 1 year doctor appointment in February.  The doctor said she looked great and that I could start weaning her from breastfeeding (hallelujah!) and give her whole milk.  I could also start introducing her to more table food.  She has loved pretty much everything that we've put on her plate.  Of course, some things have taking a few tried to get her to like them, but that's about how it goes right?  In addition, she was measuring about average for height, weight and head circumference.

Makadie also had a couple more teeth come in, which made for a few long days and nights, but she was much happier once they came in since it made chewing a lot easier! :)

February as a whole was pretty uneventful and the weather wasn't all that great either, so we were stuck inside a lot, wishing for warm weather and soft, green grass.  As a result, we had to come up with ways to entertain Makadie (and ourselves!).

We went to IKEA one day.  Kadie was being a wiggle worm and so to entertain her, Covey threw her in the pillow bin.

We read books.  Actually, Makadie really loves books.  She will go into her room and pull them out of her book bin until she finds the one she wants to "read".

The next three photos are Makadie's reaction to the flour I put on her tray for her to play with.  She loved it!

We got Makadie a new forward facing car seat (but didn't put it in until March).  This is the box it came in.  After getting over her anxiety of climbing through the box, Makadie (and Covey) had lots of fun climbing through it. 

We also celebrated Valentine's day. I took some fun pictures of Makadie (translation: I'm trying to improve my photography skills.) and Covey and I got a babysitter and went out to dinner that night.
